I sure hope you can avoid the tornadoes. Funny looking sky is a precursor to severe and unpredictable weather. Stay safe guys. Head to the basement with the mutts if "funny" turns to "ominous".

We had just less than 1/2" of rain yesternight, with lots of thunder and lightning. The historic hotel here in the village burned to the ground today, and they are thinking it may have been struck by lightning, with the fire smoldering in the wiring inside the walls, before erupting into full engulfment. There was one family living in the hotel, but they escaped unharmed.

I don't think I could deal with earthquakes myself... nowhere to run nowhere to hide. With tornadoes we just duck down in out shelter and ride it out.

Our sky here was that colour as in the top picture... then the rain came down in sheets. That's a shame about the old hotel. We've lost several over the years here due to the poor wiring.

So strange to have seen this last night on your blog, Brett. I am just seeing it in the news this morning. Are the news agencies following your blog, too?
