The Why....

Today the "WHY" we built the Beemer Pad was put to the test.

We walked down the steps and stood upright to change the oil from under the Black Jaguar. We'd driven our cars upon to ramps then slithered or creeped under to get to the oil pan plug>>>NO LONGER

The workbench is from an set of cupboards with flanking shelves made from a sturdy shipping create we'd gotten.

The vise is my grandpa's dad's that he bought at auction from a blacksmith shop that closed in Oakland, Iowa near the turn of the century.

The long garage will comfortably fit 3 cars.

I have the walls painted but not the ceiling which will be in light to medium blues with gold and white accents around the light fixtures. I also won't put the crystal plumb bobs on the chandelier until I done painting.

I had to also replace the florescent light fixture in the pantry so poor Pumpkin could see.

I want a fresh coat of paint on the inside of the cupboard which will have to wait until more seasonable weather arrives.

The vise is so old... look towards the front of the main drive shaft... those are square nails holding it together.

That's a mighty fine looking car hotel that you built, with a potty in the floor. Good work!

It's taken 2 years of our "free time" to get it finished up. Next summer to get the ceiling painted and the crown molding put on.

Very, very nice. Although........it could be the camera angle........no, I think your pit is just a little too far to the left. Oh Horrors!!!!! You can't be to the "left" when you are "right". Sorry you'll have to redo the pit. No need to thank me, I can just hear the sweet murmurs of gratitude under your breath for pointing it out.

It is the camera angle. We pulled the Jag into the left to make it easier for right handed guys to get to the oilpan plug and the oil filter.

We don't trust the bastards to put in the correct oil as specified by the owners manual... The Z4 oil is $17 a quart... We don't even trust the dealership to do that at $100 an oil change.

I/we don't have to run down to the shop for half the crap we want to do now.
